Welcome - Tayside and Fife Institute of Sport
The Tayside and Fife Institute of Sport is an organisation which supports the development of Scottish athletes within the region towards world class performance levels in sport. Based in Dundee, we are part of the Scottish and Area Institute of Sport network.
We receive investment from local and national partners to provide expert resources and support to these athletes in line with their needs as a potential world class athlete. We work in areas including strength & conditioning, sports medicine, sports science, coaching and performance lifestyle which underpins much of the athletes technical and competition based programmes.
Our aim is to support winning and successful Scottish athletes on the world stage by working in partnership with Governing Bodies to create individual integrated programmes of support.
We provide high performance expertise to Scotland's potential world class talent by supporting Governing Body identified athletes as they progress along their sporting pathway.
The regional S&C centre and TFIS offices are based at the University of Dundee however we also operate programmes out of a number of venues across the region with the aim of providing localised support to coaches and athletes where possible. These include: University of Dundee, Pitreavie, Bells Sports Centre, Arbroath Sports Centre, University of St Andrews, DISC, Dewars, Loch Leven Leisure Centre and FIPRE.
