How did you first become involved in your sport? My dad introduced me to the sport at the age of 3.
When and where did you first compete? How did you get on? I competed at my first competition when I was 8, at Blairgowrie on the wee course. I p
erformed well for an 8 year old.
When did you first realize you had the potential to make it as an athlete? When I was 12 years old and i had just been selected for the Scottish Golf Union Development Squad.
Have any family members played a sport at a high level? My mum has played bowls in the Scottish singles 10 times and my dad was very good footballer.
What are your best results so far (please list any records held) I am the youngest junior to qualify for Junior Championship, the youngest junior to play in Men's Medal and first junior to win the Perth & Kinross U14s championship and Perth & Kinross men's Spring Meeting on the same day.

What is a typical training regime for a ‘normal’ week? I have 2 strength and conditioning sessions a week and 4 hours golf practice.
How does training fit in with your other commitments (studies/work?) I have school till 3:40pm everyday so I get quite a lot of time to practise. Whenever I have to study I take a night off from training and make up for it later on in the week.
Which service/services provided by the TFIS have you made the most use of and how has it helped you? I would say the Strength and Conditioning sessions. They have helped me to become fitter and stronger.
Do you think the support offered by your coach(s) and TFIS gives you a performance edge? If so, why? Yes. It gives me a physical advantage over other competitors that do not get supported in the way i do.
Which athlete, past or present, do you admire? And why? Tiger Woods. His physical and mental game is better than anyone that plays against him.
Are there other sporting figures you look up to? And why? Seve Ballesteros because even though he had a hard childhood he still tried no matter what to reach his dream.
Who has/have had the biggest influence on you as an athlete? And why? My dad because he is always there for me when I play bad.
Where do you get your inspiration and motivation from? Myself. I want to be remembered in life so that keeps me going and also the support I get from others such as my family, friends and coaches.
What is your ultimate ambition? To become a professional golf player that competes in competitions that are shown on tv.
Do you have to make any sacrifices to be the best that you can be in your sport? If so, what are they and why do you make them? I have to give up seeing my friends at night so that i can go and practice my golf but there are probably going to be greater sacrifices still to come later on in my career.
