Debby Sargent B.Sc (Hons), MSc, ASCC
Debby is the Performance Sport Manager at the University of St Andrews and is responsible for managing and developing a programme that nurtures and supports talented individuals within the University. Over 135 athletes, from a diverse range of sports, benefit from the programme, being encouraged to fulfil both their academic and sporting aspirations. Debby also works with TFIS, offering strength and conditioning support to individuals within the St Andrews area. She is a UKSCA accredited S & C Coach and Tutors on all 4 of the UKSCA Workshops.
Debby also lectures in Sports Science at the University and is embarking on a second, part-time Masters degree in Strength and Conditioning at Edinburgh University. She hopes to complete this by the end of 2010.
Debby has a background in competitive gymnastics and trampolining and has a strong yoga background, which she uses to positively influence her coaching. More recently, she has competed in weightlifting to gain more of an insight into how to use this training modality to improve sports performance in the athletes she works with.
