Tom Brewster

The focus of our Curling programme is on coaching sessions delivered fortnightly throughout the season at Dewars Centre in Perth.

The current TFIS coach is Tom Brewster from Perthl. Tom focuses on individual skill development at these sessions with our selected athletes. Using split timer equipment and video analysis the sessions allow the athletes to develop their own skills and techniques and then take them in to the game situations with their team.

To compliment the ice sessions, we also offer an individualised supervised strength and conditioning programme for each athlete. Our head Strength and Conditioning coach Alan Sinclair writes the programmes and supervises the athletes attending sessions in Dundee. Neil Donald one of our part-time S&C coaches also supervises the programme for the curlers based in the Perth area, in the new strength & conditioning area at Bells Sports Centre, Perth.

In addition the Curlers are fitness tested 3 times a year by Sports Science Officer Helen Weavers. This allows the physical fitness of the athletes to be reviewed and recommendations for their strength and conditioning programme to be made.

Sports Psychology, Sports Nutrition, Performance Lifestyle support and Sports Medicine back up are also provided for the athletes on an individual needs basis.
